Fully Realized Sculpture

The sculpture was sculpted to capture movement in a medium that doesn’t move. Using round steel bar to hand form and sheet metal, it conveys a sense of fluid action in a space. The statue explores a wide range of movements of human anatomy. The statue seeks to convey the motion of the body in a beautiful position of the moment the sculpture is at the peak of a jump.

The sculpture is 16’ tall and consists of 3 separate pieces designed to fit on a 12” square base. Each section was made specifically for the hot-dip galvanizing process in mind in keeping the size, warping, venting, and draining all in mind for an outstanding galvanized finish.

The entire body made up of ¼” round bar was dipped in one piece and with the 2 wings and base was the things only being coated as a duplex powder coating system in a gold/bronze color for contrast.

“The display of my work in the outdoor public arena is the perfect place for the inherent academic roots to be brought to every person in an easily recognizable and accessible wat, bridging the gap between the intimidating gallery or fine art institution and the general public”
